Why Early Access?

“In May 2019, we temporarily launched an alpha prototype of the game on to Steam alongside our fundraising Kickstarter campaign. Following the fundraising period, we intentionally closed the store page because the game was not sufficiently developed for the majority of people to enjoy (this is why our storefront says May 2019). Now, three years later, Jaws of Extinction is ready to start it’s journey into Early Access. The game has developed massively during its time in Alpha, and we are now confident in sharing our progress with everybody. There is still much to do during Early Access, but the game is at a stage where we feel that the majority of people playing will have a fun and memorable experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We approximate that Early Access will be around 2 - 3 years from the launch of Multiplayer, as we are aware that JoE is a very ambitious game for such a very small team.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access is about implementing the fundamental game mechanics and making the game stable and enjoyable to play. Once the game is ready to leave Early Access, we expect the gameplay mechanics to be well refined and the world to be complete.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access includes the basic version of the game and 4 player co-op, which will be only available in an experimental state to start with. Almost all of the core mechanics are available with some systems still being developed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we are selling JoE at a reduced price during Early Access because we don’t consider it fair to charge people the full price when they don’t get the full game yet. When the game is finished we will charge full price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We already have a flourishing community on Discord (https://discord.gg/playjoegame), Steam and our social media pages. We encourage our players to share and discuss their thoughts with us and a lot of the feedback we have received has been taken on board; some of it even shaping the game. We love hearing what everyone has to say and if it is constructive we will find a way to use it.”

In the spirit of our ethos of transparency and integrity we want you to know that our game is at ALPHA stage in EARLY ACCESS and will therefore contain many bugs and have performance issues on low to mid-end machines. About This Game

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO TO SURVIVE ONE MORE DAY?

Jaws Of Extinction (JoE) is a story-driven, single-player, and multiplayer, horror-survival RPG. Your story begins on a large, open-world island known as Eden-Nadir; a place renowned for its beauty and thriving wildlife.

You will be faced with decisions that you may not wish to make as you battle against terrifying infected locals, brutal armed survivors, dangerous native wildlife, exposure to the elements, and the threats posed by other players.

Play single-player, co-op with up to 4 friends, or multiplayer on a dedicated server. Follow the storyline and uncover the dark secrets of Eden-Nadir or go off the beaten track and simply survive in the huge, open-world, hand-crafted environment.

A CAPABLE THREAT

The infected can do almost everything you can do—climb, vault, run, and even open doors. To get an edge, players must use stealth, cunning and the appropriate equipment to survive.

CLASSIC DESIGN, NEW HORROR

The infected are not reanimated undead. They are conscious and completely aware of what is happening, but have no control over their actions. Screaming in pain, they are slaves to the fungal parasite seen protruding from wounds on their bodies.

HEADSHOTS? ROOKIE MISTAKE!

Headshots will spread a cloud of hazardous fungal spores. The best way to eliminate the infected is by damaging the heart. Take mercy on them.

FEAR THE RAIN

Infected are attracted to water and become extremely dangerous when exposed to it. Every trip to a reliable watering hole carries risk, and be wary of straying too far from safety when dark clouds are overhead. The skies will betray you in other ways too. Beware of flocks of carrion birds that will give away your position.

IMMERSE YOURSELF!

What will be your profession? You can build, craft, trade, farm, hunt, fight, scavenge, loot, ambush and steal… it’s all up to you! How will you choose to survive?

EXPLORE AND CLAIM VAST LANDSCAPES

The island of Eden-Nadir’s diverse biomes range from sweeping lavender and cornfields to sun-dappled forests and beautiful seashores which feed into murky swamps. If you're looking to settle in a more urban environment, then the island is dotted with deserted towns, fortified cities, even quaint villages and picturesque countryside retreats. All waiting to be claimed.
